Saudi Arabia’s NEOM unveils massive lagoon resort ‘Treyam’
Saudi Arabia’s $500 billion futuristic mega-project NEOM has announced its latest tourism development - a massive luxury lagoon resort named Treyam.
The resort will be located on the southern end of the Gulf of Aqaba and is being touted as a “gateway” for active and adventurous travelers.
Treyam is strategically positioned where the desert meets the sea, nestled against a beautiful azure lagoon. The resort aims to integrate itself into the natural landscape while providing guests with panoramic views of the lagoon and open waters.
NEOM said minimal land intervention was required for the resort’s “audacious design.” The goal is to create an “elevated haven” where guests can relax and re-energize amidst majestic natural surroundings.
The architecture of Treyam centers around a bridge-like structure connecting the north and south shores of the lagoon. The 250-room luxury hotel is housed within the bridge itself.
NEOM said the bridge’s innovative sloped facade gives the illusion of a perpetual sunset when viewed from a distance. Guests on the upper and lower floors will have unobstructed views of the lagoon and open skies
